美国当地时间2017年5月24日-27日，第38届头脑奥林匹克竞赛世界总决赛（Odyssey of the Mind World Finals）在美国密西根州立大学举行。由密西根学院学子领衔的上海交通大学代表队从来自世界各地的850支队伍中脱颖而出，夺得大学组别世界冠军。
The 38th Odyssey of the Mind (OM) World Finals were held at Michigan State University on May 24 – 27. The SJTU team, led by JI students, emerged from 850 teams from around the world and won the world championship in the college category.

6月14日，交大密西根学院教师陈倩栎与科研合作伙伴瑞士联邦材料研究所Artur Braun博士在自然出版集团 (Nature Publishing Group) 旗下的一流国际学术期刊《Nature Communications》上共同发表《Experimental neutron scattering evidence for proton polaron in hydrated metal oxide proton conductors》（质子极化子在水化金属氧化物质子导体中的中子散射实验证据）的论文。论文叙述了他们在中子散射实验中的重大发现，揭示了质子传导的关键机理。
Dr. Qianli Chen, a JI research scientist, has published a paper in Nature Communications (June 14, 2017), coauthored with Dr. Artur Braun from Empa – Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology. The paper, entitled “Experimental neutron scattering evidence for proton polaron in hydrated metal oxide proton conductors,” describes their observations of neutron scattering in the experiments of a new proton conductivity mechanism.

The Stephen M. Ross School of Business of University of Michigan (UM) and UM-SJTU Joint Institute (JI) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) have jointly launched the Automotive Executive Development Program (EDP).
