The Career Division of JI Students’ Union held an Intel internship seminar in SJTU’s Student Activity Center on April 11, 2012. Thirty-three students showed up for the informative event. The two-hour activity aimed to exchange ideas with a representative from Intel about internships and job-hunting skills.
Intel Corporation is the world’s largest maker of semi-conductor chips. For 40 years, it has been the leading designer and manufacturer of microprocessors, integrated circuits, and other devices related to communications and computing. The company has operations and facilities in 63 countries and regions all over the world, including China. This internship seminar was sponsored by the Intel Asia Pacific R & D Center located in Zizhu Science and Technology Park, Minhang.
The first half of the seminar was spent discussing resume writing. The Intel representative emphasized the importance of resumes and the art of crafting an effective resume where being concise is the key. He patiently critiqued four resumes submitted by JI students and suggested ways of improvement.
The second half focused on interview techniques. The Intel representative pointed out the do’s and don’ts during a job interview and demonstrated a mock interview with Freshman Zhang Haowen and gave thorough analysis and critiques of his performance.
Then students asked a lot of questions about Intel’s company profile and employment outlook. The Intel representative gave detailed answers. Both parties looked forward to further exchanges in the future.
