The month-long annual SJTU student singing contest “Star Age” reached its grand finale in Jingjing Auditorium on April 12, 2012. JI’s sophomore Sun Jianwei, an ECE major, stood out as one of the ten finalists.
Star Age Contest was initiated 16 years ago by the Arts Center of SJTU’s Students Union. Once a year, it provides a stage for SJTU students to showcase their musical talents and fulfill their dreams of stardom. Any student who loves to sing in public, regardless of genre, can take part in the event. Over the years, the style and level of the performance have evolved, leaving fond memories to the SJTU community. The contest has enriched the students’ cultural life.
There are three stages of competition, i.e., top 100, top 30, and top 10. Congratulations to Sun for reaching the top 10 list. He is the first JI student ever to win this title.
