讲座摘要

Pulse-based Terahertz (THz) communications, with simple transceiver architecture and high energy efficiency, have emerged as a promising paradigm for future wireless communications. To promote the application of pulse-based THz communications, it is necessary to design networking methods to meet the key requirements of 6G network. Wireless mesh networks are regarded as an important means of THz networking since they can ensure coverage and connectivity. To study the pulse-based THz networking, a center frequency and bandwidth tunable pulse waveform is first designed to improve the flexibility and efficiency of THz communication. A system design method is then designed to use the proposed waveform to realize high-order modulations. Next, a new pulse division multiple access with flexible beamforming architecture is proposed to enable multiple users to communication using different pulses. Finally, a distributed scheduling algorithm based on pulse-based resources is developed, which can optimize the network performance in terms of latency, reliability, and throughput. Therefore, this dissertation proposes novel theories and algorithms for pulse waveform design, high-order modulation, multiple access, beamforming, and distributed scheduling, which can improve the performance and efficiency of pulse-based THz communications.
