The Faculty Class Mentor Team of UM-SJTU Joint Institute(JI) is composed of professional faculties from Electronics and Computer Engineering(ECE), Mechanical Engineering(ME), Material Science and Engineering(MSE). We have rich foreign learning experience and many years of teaching experience, providing professional consulting support for students. Faculty Class Mentor Team
I am an Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the JI. The subject of life and ideal are my favorite topics to explore with my students. In particular, it is my great pleasure to share my perspectives with my students on major selection, further studies, and future plans.
I am an Associate Professor of JI. I obtained my PhD degree from Stanford University. Before coming back to China I was a lecturer in Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Spain. I am familiar with our undergraduate curriculum and undergraduate research opportunities, from faculty’s perspectives.

Name: Weikang Qian
I am a tenured associate professor in the electrical and computer engineering program at the JI. I teach Programming, Data Structures, and Algorithms related courses. My research is related to computer engineering, particularly electronic design automation and digital design. I have some experience in academic advising on course selection, career plan, etc. I have also been actively mentoring undergraduate students for research projects.

I received my PhD from the University of Pennsylvania and conducted my postdoctoral research at Harvard University. Currently, I am a tenure-track associate professor at JI. I can advise on major declaration, oversea study, career development and others.
Name: Yunlong Guo
I am an Associate Professor in Materials Science and Engineering at JI. My research expertise is polymeric materials at nanoscale, and I teach classes on both undergraduate and graduate levels. I would like to provide advance or suggestions on CV writing, school and major selection.
Name: Hua Bao
I am an associate professor at UM-SJTU Joint Institute and doing research in the energy and thermal engineering area. I was graduated from Purdue University. I am experienced in academic career development.
Sung-Liang Chen is an Associate Professor at the University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China. His research interests include photoacoustic imaging technology and applications, optical imaging systems, and miniature photoacoustic transducers and ultrasound sensors. He has published 40 peer-reviewed articles in journals, including Nature Photonics, Analytical Chemistry, and ACS Applied Energy Materials. He was a recipient of the Shanghai Pujiang Talent Award.
Associate Professor and PhD advisor at UM-SJTU Joint Institute. Research interests include 5G and 6G wireless communications. I actively support and mentor research activities and graduate studies for JI undergraduate students.

Associate professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UM-SJTU Joint Institute, IEEE senior member. He received the PhD degree from the University of Tokyo in September 2004. His research interests include wireless energy transfer, energy storage and management, and mechatronics. He won the 7th Shanghai Jiao Tong University “Koguan Top Ten Best Teacher Award” in 2017, etc.
