讲座摘要

Studying thermal transport in porous materials is significant for thermal energy control. Porous materials have various pore distributions and different pore scales, ranging from macropore to vacancy defect. This dissertation is dedicated to research on thermal transport in porous materials with different pore distributions and scales. First, five physics-based descriptors are proposed to quantify the pore distribution, which can accurately predict the effective thermal conductivity of macroporous materials. Then, the effect of pore arrangement on the thermal transport in nanoporous graphene is investigated. An exceptional thermal conductivity enhancement by disordered pore arrangement compared to the periodic counterpart is discovered. Next, through a rigorous quantitative comparison of the thermal conductivity computed by molecular dynamics simulation and phonon Boltzmann transport equation, thermal transport regimes of porous graphene with different pore scales are distinguished.

主讲人简介

Han Wei received her B.S. degree in School of Energy and Power Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, in 2017. Now, she is a Ph.D. candidate student at University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute, supervised by Professor Hua Bao. Her current research focuses on the heat conduction in porous materials.
