讲座摘要

Fluorescence imaging and photoacoustic (PA) imaging are very important techniques in the field of modern bioimaging, which have the advantages of high sensitivity and good penetration depth. Semiconductor silicon and germanium nanomaterials are becoming ideal choices in both imaging technologies due to their unique optical properties. This dissertation improved the biocompatibility of silicon quantum dot nanoparticles and germanium nanoparticles by designing suitable surface modification and functionalization methods, and they showed good optical properties and biodegradability in vivo. In addition, fluorescence imaging and PA imaging of tumors were performed. Finally, the integration of dual-modality fluorescence and PA imaging will provide more comprehensive and accurate information for biomedical imaging. These efforts are expected to promote the wide application of semiconductor silicon and germanium nanomaterials in clinical diagnosis, drug delivery and biomedical research, making important contributions to improving human health.

主讲人简介

Guo Chen received the B.S. degree in Applied Chemistry from Xidian University. In 2019, he joined the University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute to continue further studies. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate supervised by Prof. Sung-Liang Chen. His research interests are in applications of semiconductor nanomaterials (silicon and germanium) in fluorescence imaging and photoacoustic imaging.
