The University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI, JI hereafter) held a kickoff meeting on job hunting for Class of 2022 graduate students at Long Bin Building on October 11.

Student Counselor Qi Zhou introduced graduate placement results of previous years, job hunting procedures and policies. She offered advices to Class of 2022 students based on analysis of job opportunities and market conditions. The graduate students should make good use of job hunting resources of the institute and the university, keep following relevant information published on SJTU and JI websites and wechat platforms, define their job interests and grab the job opportunities, said Zhou.

In the discussion session, Student Senior Counselor Jie Lin advised that the students should make proper adjustment of their mentality, identify their self-positioning and lower their expectation while trying to catch every job opportunity. Manager of the Office of Student Affairs Qi Wu said the students should prioritize their tasks and make proper arrangement of their job hunting time and pattern.

Every year, JI hosts job hunting meetings to help graduating students to keep abreast of the job market and get prepared for a better future.
