On May 12, a delegation from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) led by President Ho Teck Hua, visited the University of Michigan–Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI, JI hereafter).  JI leaders including Chairman of JI Council Ming Yang, Dean Chien-Pin Chen, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs David Hung, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education Gang Zheng, Deputy Party Secretary Chong Wang, Associate Dean for Graduate Education Yongxing Shen and Associate Dean for Research Yanfeng Shen attended the event.

During the meeting, Chien-Pin Chen provided an overview of JI’s development, faculty team building, and achievements in international education collaboration. Yanfeng Shen shared recent progress in the institute’s research endeavors. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics of mutual interest and explored potential areas for future cooperation.

Prior to the meeting, the delegation toured the Long Bin Building, including the Tang Junyuan Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, the Yu Liming Student Center, and the alumni exhibition series. The visit provided insights into the institute’s internationalized, leadership-oriented, and innovation-driven talent cultivation model.
