Biography

Prof. Sivaraman is an innovator of international repute in the area of Telecommunication Networks, specifically Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Internet-of-Things (IoT) technologies. He has published 38 journal articles, many in leading IEEE/ACM Transactions journals, and 77 conference papers, several in highly selective venues. He serves on journal editorial boards, several conference
program committees, and is routinely invited to give talks at academic conferences and industry events. He has spent three years working at a silicon-valley start-up, and his entrepreneurial spirit has led him to co-found a start-up, establish an industry Alliance sponsored by multiple industry partners, and initiate industry-funded research projects with several companies (Google, Cisco, HP, Optus). He has raised over $1.3M in research grants from the ARC in the past three years. He contributes to the School and Faculty as Postgraduate Research Coordinator (PGC) for EET, serving 150+ PhD students from admission to graduation, and regularly organizes community-building events attended by local open-source enthusiasts.
