A delegation from Macomb County, Michigan visited JI on November 28, 2011.
JI Executive Director Pam Byrnes gave welcome speech and introduced the Joint Institute. Faculty Director of Corporate Relations Vincent Chang briefed JI’s education, innovation, and cooperation with the University of Michigan. Professor David Hung gave an overview of the development of low-energy vehicles in China and the U.S. International Program Coordinator Viva Du described the application requirements and procedures for international students to study at JI.
Mr. Edward Bruley , the secretary of the board of the Macomb Cultural and Economic Partnership , remarked that the purpose of their trip is to prosper the education of Macomb County through international cooperation. Next April, an exchange student group of 16 members is coming to China; SJTU will probably be one of the stops. They also plan to organize the students of Macomb Community College to come to study at JI’s summer school.
