On Dec.28, 2011, Scott Yang, the Academic Affairs Manager, Candice Liu, the Student Career Counselor, and Zongchang Liu of Class 2008 were invited to visit the Pan-Asian Research & Development Center of Shanghai General Motors (GM).
Mao Ye, the Senior HR Manager of Staff Planning and Assignment at Shanghai GM introduced their talent recruitment strategy in the next 5 years. With the integration of GM’s Pan-Asian R&D Center and global R&D centers, a large number of overseas talents are imminently needed. The professionals who can fill the void left by the domestic universities, have an excellent command of English, and are well versed in foreign cultures will be favored.
Most of the JI graduates studying abroad are in the top 10 engineering graduate schools in North America and other countries. They are very competitive. Shanghai GM’s Pan-Asian R&D Center intends to make a strategy with JI on overseas talent recruitment: hiring about 20 talents from abroad every year.
