The 2016 Open Day of the University of Michigan- Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI) was held on August 10 on the same occasion of the Summer Design Expo, attracting more than 500 high school students and their parents from all over China.

Dean Peisen Huang welcomed the students and parents warmly. He pointed out that JI is committed to creating an open and innovative learning environment where a high-quality faculty team and a rich international curriculum nurture well-rounded students. The biannual Design Expo provides a platform for JI undergraduate students to showcase their abilities of solving practical problems through group collaboration and communication. He hoped the Open Day would help prospective students and parents get a better understanding of JI.
