As approved by the Board of Directors, Dean Ni recently announced some changes in JI’s leadership team:

Effective January 1, 2013, Professor Peisen Huang has assumed the position of Deputy Dean. Effective September 1, 2012, Professor Olivier Bauchau (former Chair of Graduate Committee) has become Associate Dean for Graduate and International Education, and Dr. Gang Zheng (former Assistant of Deputy Dean) has become Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education. Dean Ni, Executive Director Pam Byrnes, and Associate Dean for Research, Wangsheng Zhao, remain in their current appointments. Former Deputy Dean Robert Parker resigned and left last December for a chairman position in Virginia Institute of Technology.

Professor Peisheng Huang – Deputy Dean

Prof. Huang has played a critical role in the development of JI from the beginning. He is the first faculty member that JI has recruited. He had been a tenured full professor from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He has been instrumental to the development of the JI educational programs. He will be responsible for JI’s academic affairs and budget development.

Professor Olivier Bauchau — Associate Dean for Graduate and International Education

Professor Bauchau came from Georgia Institute of Technology where he had served as a tenured full professor. Since joining JI, he has contributed significantly to JI’s development in graduate education and faculty recruitment. He will be in charge of JI’s graduate program, international program, and faculty recruitment.

Dr. Gang Zheng — Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education

Dr. Zheng has contributed significantly to JI’s undergraduate program development. He had been an Assistant Professor at Gannon University, Pennsylvania. He will be responsible for all matters related to JI undergraduate programs.
