It is the University of Michigan- Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute’s (UM-SJTU JI) tradition to welcome the new students with a highly-anticipated variety show which takes upper classmates months to prepare. The 2016 welcome show was held at SJTU Auditorium on November 6. Themed “Jane Eyre (Simply Love),” combining promo with performance, the dazzling show told the story of a young woman, burdened with life’s pressure, finds herself through friendship and love. It carried upper classmates’ good wishes for the new students. The feast of light and sound attracted a full house, attended by faculty, staff, new students and parents.
