Three undergraduate students from the University of Michigan – Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI, JI hereafter) delivered outstanding performance in the recent 14th Blue Bridge Cup National Software and Information Technology Talent Competition, winning one first prize and two second prizes. Chongye Yang claimed the first prize award in the University Group A for C/C++ programming.  Erdao Liang won the second prize in Python Group A and Zhanxun Liu won the second prize in the Web University Group.

More than 400,000 students from over 1,200 universities from across the country participated in the Blue Bridge Cup competition. The competition was listed by the China Higher Education Association in 2020 as an important competition for educational and teaching reforms in universities and for cultivating innovative talents.

“For me, this competition is not only about improving programming skills and thinking but also about passion and pursuit. It keeps me continuously exploring and pushing my limits, enabling me to grow into a more comprehensive individual,” said the first prize winner Chongye Yang.
