JI Multiscale (JIM) Combustion Laboratory



JIM combustion lab develops and applies first principles-based predictve tools to simulate reacting flows, including: combustion, turbulence, particulate and shock waves, and their multi-scale interactions. Our goal is to develop and utilize high-fidelity, computationally efficient predictive tools, in order to gain fundamental understanding of the physicochemical processes in reacting flows, to make practical impacts on designing and controlling advanced propulsion and power-generation systems for energy sustainability.
