Transfer Students (2025-2026)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS
1. Application Platform
All international undergraduate transfer applications must be submitted through the Common Application at: https://apply.commonapp.org/Login?ma=699.
2. Application Period
Applications are accepted from September 1st of this year until March 31st of the following year. We cannot begin to review your application until all required materials are received.
3. Eligibility Criteria
a. Applicants must have completed at least one semester of full-time coursework at their original institution.
b. Applicants must meet all identity verification requirements for international students.
4. Academic Requirements
We require course and grade information from your enrollment in any and all colleges and universities. This should include all college-level coursework completed to date (at least one semester of your freshman year), including your current term in progress, and (if applicable) college classes taken while in high school.
You must submit an official transcript in English from all institutions(s) in which you were enrolled to meet the course and grade information requirement to complete your application for admission.
When reviewing applications, we pay particular attention to the college-level course work you have completed, and specifically:
a. No grade lower than C or 80 (or an equivalent grading scale) in each individual course.
b. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0, or 80 out of 100 (or an equivalent grading scale) is required.
c. Submission of standardized test scores (e.g., SAT(GC code: 6563) or ACT(GC code: 6983)) used for admission to the original institution is required for reference.
2025 first-year admitted class test scores of Middle 50th percentile ranges:
SAT total score: 1350-1450
SAT Math: 730-790
ACT total score: 29-34
ACT Math: 32-35
d. If you applied to your current university with A-Level results in high school, you must have received a grade of A or above in Mathematics. If you applied with International Baccalaureate (IB) results, you must have scored at least 5 in Math HL or 7 in Math SL.
5. English Language Proficiency
Transfer applicants educated in non-English speaking countries must submit an official TOEFL(GC code: 6210) or IELTS test score.
- TOEFL (iBT, including the Home Edition and the Paper Edition): 90 or above; TOEFL Essentials: 10 or above.
- IELTS: 6 or above.
Exceptions: You can be exempted from taking any of these exams if your SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score is 650 or above, or if both your ACT Reading and English scores are 27 or above, and if you have recently completed at least four years of rigorous academic study in any of the following countries: Anguilla, Antigua, Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada (except Quebec), Cayman Islands, Dominica, Federated States of Micronesia, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Montserrat, New Zealand, Seychelles, Shetland Islands, St. Kitts-Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands, United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland), United States (other than Puerto Rico), US Virgin Islands, Singapore. (Those in American Schools and British Schools abroad may also be exempted if at least four years of rigorous academic study has recently been completed and scores meet above standards.)
*All international students must attain HSK Level 4 (Chinese Language Test) to meet SJTU’s graduation requirement.
6. Credit Requirements
a. Prior to applying for transfer admission, applicants must have completed at least 50 credits of transferable course work at SJTU-Global College, including a minimum of 30 upper-level credits.
b. The graduation requirement at SJTU-Global College is 148 total credits.
c. Students who do not meet transfer requirements will be treated as freshman applicants and may transfer up to 6 credits after enrollment.
7. Enrollment Duration
All students must be registered at SJTU for at least three years in order to meet the graduation requirements.
8. Application Fee
The Application fee is 75 USD and is non-refundable.
