Sam Ro

Credits: 3

Pre-requisites: none

In this course, students will learn how to make a detailed and practical research plan in social sciences.

Course Topics:

It starts with a discussion on a good research question and explores how to develop the question through a literature review and write a research proposal clarifying research methods to be used. Students will not carry out actual research in this course but they will formulate research questions and make annotated bibliography and literature review individually, and then present research plans in groups containing appropriate research methods. Although this course focuses on social sciences some of the elements, such as forming research questions and literature review and planning the research project are also relevant to other fields including engineering.
