Q & A

Study Abroad Programs in General

Where to find information on Study Abroad programs?
All the Information about JI’s Study Abroad programs is available at the JI website: Academics – International Programs.
You may also download the Go Global Brochure to view the details.

Credit Transfer

How do I transfer the credits that I earned in the Winter Programs, Exchange Programs and GDP Programs?

Please first check the JI Credit Transfer Database at https://app.ji.sjtu.edu.cn/equivalence, search for the name of the universities that you’ve been studying with and find out if the courses have already been evaluated and are transferrable to JI. If not, please start a new course evaluation.

How do I transfer the credits that I earned in the Dual-Degree Program?

Please first check the JI Credit Transfer Database at https://app.ji.sjtu.edu.cn/equivalence, search for University of Michigan and find out if the courses have already been evaluated and are transferrable to JI.

Courses not on the database can be regarded as General Electives. No need to be evaluated.

Can I transfer a P/F course?
Courses which have been graded as P/F on the transcripts cannot be transferred.
How would I find the courses on my transcript or JI degree progress website?
All the courses and credits you earn during study abroad programs, including DD, Exchange, WP and GDP, will not appear on your degree progress system, nor your SJTU official transcript. UEO and IPO will calculate the credits towards your graduation when checking your degree progress.
What should I do if I think the course is better to be transferred to another category, or evaluated as different credits?
Please start a new application of credit transfer for an existing course for a different result. Note to reapply in order to have a different result is unlikely to be accepted if the student does not provide further materials and evidence.
