Pre-requisites:
VE370 & VE280
Description:
This course serves as an alternative to ECE4500J and can be taken as a capstone (MDE) course. It provides senior students with a comprehensive understanding of modern processor design, highlighting architectural trade-offs in advanced processors, memory systems, and their interactions. The course emphasizes hands-on learning through design and verification of a processor or its subsystems using standard approaches such as HDL, HLS or other popular computer architecture simulators, integrating relevant knowledge gained throughout their studies at GC.
Course Topics:
1. Course introduction, Introduction to Computer Architecture & Emerging Trend
2. Fundamental Processors I
3. Advanced Processors
4. Memories
5. Computer Architecture Emerging Topics
6. Capstone Projects
