Description:

The course starts with queueing theory with applications in communications. Based on queueing theory, conduct analysis on data networks with a theoretical perspective, using telephone networks, wireless networks, and the Internet as primary applications. Presents basic tools for modeling and performance analysis accompanied by elementary, meaningful simulations. Develop insights for large networks by means of simple approximations. Draw upon concepts from queueing theory and optimization.
