VM519 – Theory of Plasticity
Credits: 3 credits
Pre-requisites: Vm211 Introduction to Solid Mechanics and Vm311 Strength of Materials
Fundamentals of plasticity; stress-strain relations, yield criteria and the general behavior of metals and non-metals beyond proportional limit in the light of experimental evidence. Various approximate theories with emphasis on the theory of plastic flow. Application to problems of bending, torsion, plane strain and plane stress, technological problems.
